CJ Lowry

Chanete “CJ” Lowry

Director of Culinary Services

Chef CJ Lowry was born and raised in North Texas. Her first culinary experiences were learning to cook with her grandmother on the family farm. Each summer she would tend to the garden, can vegetables, make jellies/jams, and tend to the livestock including cows, chickens, and goats. She has spent six years in high end catering for JBH, and catered to local celebrities such as Jay Leno, Mayor Sylvester Turner, and the Alley Theater Cast. From there she became the Executive Chef at Crush Wine Lounge in the Woodlands. She learned a great deal about wine and cheese pairings. Crush Wine Lounge specialized in upscale, southern cuisine with the most famous dish being shrimp and grits using mascarpone cheese. Finally, her culinary adventure at Crush ended when the business was sold. She then found where her passion for cooking met her purpose. A regular customer urged her to apply for a Culinary Director position at a neighboring senior home. The rest is history. She loves working directly with the residents, doing cooking demos, and catering for their private parties. She is excited to begin her new journey with The Conservatory at Champion Forest and Discovery Senior Living. She looks forward to bringing fresh ingredients and a new spin on the classic favorites already offered.

A Franklin

Altheia Franklin

Senior Lifestyle Counselor

Altheia Franklin is originally from Phoenix, Arizona. She majored in Psychology at Grand Canyon University. She has 10+ years in property management for apartment communities; however, her focus in property management shifted to Senior Industry Property Management after having cared for her elderly aunt. That is when she sensed the importance for seniors to have adequate socialization to combat loneliness and depression. Altheia spent time gathering her aunt’s friends (all non-drivers) so they could enjoy being in the company of one another. Little did she know at that time that there was a beautiful world called “INDEPENDENT LIVING” tailor made to solve the problem.

When Altheia relocated to Houston, Texas, in 2016, she obtained a position as a Senior Sales Counselor so she could educate seniors about this world of independent living because she recognizes that many seniors, much like her aunt, mistake this type of life style as being a nursing home. So today, she prides herself with teaching seniors about luxury, resort style living as well as, helping seniors navigate through the emotional aspect of change. We are excited to have Altheia join the Conservatory at Champion Forest and Discovery Senior Living team.
